Urban recycling seminar
April 18-22, 2005
Jaime Lozano addressed audiences of government officials, NGOs, tourism agencies, legal offices, environmental experts, and citizens interested in the environment – approximately 200 participants in all – in El Calafate and Puerto Madryn to talk about the three R’s: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Participants were inspired by his message of “closing the circle”, referring to the need to create markets for recyclable materials. Mr. Lozano’s years of experience managing urban recycling programs allowed him to give several examples of how the State of California has come to have one of most advanced urban waste management programs in the world.
